Tal's Page 1 Draft

The front door closes behind my parents, and I start playing with my toys. I have all my closest friends with me. People tell me they're not my friends because they're toy robots, but I don't believe them. To me, they're real. We decide to go into the kitchen and get some food. I'm hungry for cereal, or maybe even some good pasta. Luke, the cowboy, says he wants some water. So being the great friend I am, I climb up on the granite area next to the sink and open the cabinet to the cups. I pour some water into it, and put it on the floor for Luke to drink. We talk about my parents, hoping they'll get some chocolate or desserts for this house. They said they're going to Safeway and should be home very soon.
I carry Luke, and we start heading out of the kitchen. While leaving the kitchen, something catches my eye. The stove. It's still on. I see fire, and something in my head tells me I should try to put it out. I grab the glass of water that Luke had, and I pour it on the fire. It still doesn't go out. I see some cooking oil next to the stove, and decide maybe that'll put it out! Why wouldn't it? So I pour some of that on the fire, and it just gets bigger! Now it looks like a monster. I now know pouring the oil wasn't a good thing, and I'm scared of what the fire monster might do to me, so I run away and hide under my parents bed. Hopefully he won't find me here.
